WellFest 2019 has just happened and we are still buzzing from a great weekend! On the 11- 12th of May our Galway team travelled to Dublin to take part in the festivities. Our aim over the weekend was to reach even more woman and spread our FitrWoman mission. At our stall in the WellVillage tent, we ran some live demos of our FitrWoman app – the world’s first period tracking app that provides daily training and nutrition suggestions tailored to the menstrual cycle. It was great to meet so many awesome women and, of course, to hear your feedback, suggestions and ideas for the future.
The highlight! It was an amazing experience to meet so many exercising women who are so positive and proactive about their health and wellbeing. It was great to get such an overwhelmingly positive response to the work we are doing here at FitrWoman. We also loved meeting those of you who use FitrWoman and hearing how it has enhanced training and exercise – this makes it all worthwhile and drives us on to keep working.
The openness and enthusiasm that people had to get the most from life was infectious. It created an amazing atmosphere, which rippled throughout the entire festival! Mobility workshops, rocket yoga, combat defense or whatever took your fancy, these were just a tiny fraction of the wide range of activities on offer over the weekend. Each stage drew a large crowd and left most people out of breath but smiling. You couldn't help but take it all in!
We also got the opportunity to listen to some fantastic talks and discussions from some of the most influential leaders in health over the weekend. These people are leading the way and it was great to get the chance to hear what projects they are working on and how they hope to change the health landscape in the future. A special thanks to Jenny Murphy, Sinead Delahunty, Ciara Kelly, Dee Fitz, The Happy Pear, Joe Wicks, The Strength Temple, and so many more who took the time to chat to the FitrWoman team!
We want to help as many women as we can and empower them to work with their cycle. Everyone can play their part in changing the conversation of women in sport by simply passing on the FitrWoman app to a friend, sister, teammate or daughter. Talking openly about the benefits and importance of the menstrual cycle is a small step that can have a massive lasting impact.
